This week’s art for the Masses is somewhat different. SALTART!
Ok, as if drawing, painting or photoshoping Joker were not hard enough on their own right, BASHIR SULTANI brings art to a new level when he tries to make a Heath Ledger Joker portrait out of table salt. And it looks great…I bow to his talent!!
CBR published updated information on the new downloadable WB based on the Batman franchise: GOTHAM CITY IMPOSTORS. Here is what they had to say:
Prepare to lock and load, because the Batmen and the Jokerz are preparing to take over the city. WB Games has announced that “Gotham City Impostors,” a multiplayer first-person shooter game based loosely around the Batman universe, will arrive for download on PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network on January 10, 2012. The game should sell for $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft points, respectively.
To get players prepared for the upcoming multiplayer sessions, WB has also announced it will be launching its open beta in December for all platforms. This beta will let players test the game out early, complete with all its gadgets and character customization options.
“Gotham City Impostors” is an original download-only first-person shooter where up to 12 players battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by Impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. Gotham City Impostors is an online multiplayer game unlike any other, giving players the opportunity to engage in unconventional urbane warfare as they personalize their own Impostors. Gamers will create their very own version of the Bats or the Jokerz characters using unprecedented customization options including insane costumes, homemade gadgets and a wide range of traditional and inventive weapons. The game will feature maps and modes inspired by DC Comics’ Batman license.
…and I thought that the Joker picture was just hilarious? Definitely something Joker would be…ehem…wearing, but…what the heck is he doing with the goat? Only Joker knows….

I don’t know if anybody is interested in this kind of thing, but I found it interesting that they have formed a little community dedicated to ARKHAM CITY. I am just providing the link for the fun of it, so enjoy it.
My friend Candiss sent me a link to this beautiful electric guitar, custom made with Heath Ledger’s Joker’s picture painted on its face. I think it’s nice, though pricey…but maybe a Jokerholic out there with some money to spend and a great talent to play an electric guitar would be interested. Link to the auction at the bottom of the post.

I have been a little behind in this little lead, since I don’t have much time to watch cartoons these days, but I plan on changing that and start catching up as this Joker is different from anything I have seen before. From what I know it is voiced by Brent Spiner (Data, Star Trek: Next Generation) and though he does not sound anything like Mark Hamill or Joe DiMaggio, I think he might be into someting good. The main problem in this episode I think is poor writing. Joker did not have much chance to show off and the jokes were kind of lame. Hope they get someone who REALLY understands the Joker’s psyche for future episodes. Regarding Mr. Spiner, I think he just needs time to get into character a little bit more. You can hear that he is not too comfortable with the Clown yet and mostly, he needs to work on that laugh. To me, it is not maniacal enough. Now, Mr. Spiner is no stranger to voice acting and I’m sure he could really nail this character given him time. Let’s see how this goes in future appearances. Mr. Spiner has very big shoes to fill with Joker’s character after the work of previous voice actors and on top of that, he has to emboss that special “Spiner magic” (which is not there yet) to make THIS Joker his and unique.
In the meantime I took the liberty of bringing you SEASON 1 EPISODE 14 “REVELATIONS” part one and two with Joker in it.
