Yes, the “kids” at Sideshow are at it again, and bring forward another awesome new sculpt of the DARK KNIGHT’S Joker that Heath Ledger helped to immortalize.
Let me introduce…THE DARK KNIGHT THE JOKER PREMIUM FORMAT STATUE
The sculpt is awesome and the presentation is even better. The artists over at Sideshow deliver us another winner. It is already available for ordering…I am planning on getting one, what are you waiting for to get yours?
This was announced a few months ago by DC Collectibles, but they had not released a picture of the statues, and I had withheld the report until some images were available. FINALLY, they release the first pictures and please note that they are also releasing a Deadshot and a Killer Croc statue as well and I’m sure more statues of the cast will follow. With no more delay, these are the first look at the Joker and Harley Quinn statues:
Yes, it was a nice day in 2004 when I saw the announcement in my PREVIEWS catalog of a new Jim Lee/ Lee Bermejo/ Camuncoli project involving Joker…and then it got cancelled.
I had attended comic book conventions (SDCC and NYCC as well as Orlando MEGACON) and try to inquire about the project…nobody knew what I was talking about or those that knew said it was in indefinite hiatus…so I waited. And waited. And waited.
And today I was ecstatic when I read on COMIC BOOK RESOURCES that FINALLY the series is going to see print. YES! The First issue of the series is scheduled to be released on NOVEMBER 2015 and will include (as of today) alternate covers by Jim Lee (1:100 sketch Cover), and Lee Bermejo. The original layouts of the series are done by Giuseppe Camumcoli and top comic book artists will work in each of the 4 issues of the miniseries. The first issue is made by JIM LEE! Here is the premise:
The impossible has happened and Batman is on the verge of being taken down by an enemy he cannot defeat: a virus for which there is no cure! And the only hope for his salvation is The Joker! Who infected Batman, what does the Clown Prince of Crime know, and how will the Dark Knight get that information? Together, the enemies crisscross Europe, desperate to find answers before time runs out.
And here are the covers:

Batman and his arch-nemesis The Joker are two sides of the same coin. You can’t have one without the other. Their complicated relationship is captured perfectly with this award-winning sand sculpture, which is titled “My Better Half.”
The sculpture was created by Marielle Hessels of the Netherlands and David Ducharme of Winlaw, B.C., and won first place in the doubles division at Parksville’s annual Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition.

I apologize for not posting this column of upcoming merchandise lately…life keeps happening I guess, but now I will make it up for all you JOKERHOLICS and post the latest additions to the Joker merchandise collection to be released between now and 2016.
Always remember that most of these you might be able to get through your local Comic Book Shop or may be ordered though a store (Amazon, Entertainment Earth, Big Bad ToyStore among others) and occasionally through the manufacturer directly (Sideshow). Like always, release dates are subject to change and prices are not set on stone either.

There are a bunch of new Joker and Harley Quinn figures coming out this year and like any good capitalistic society none of them are really cheap so it is important to be careful when choosing what to collect and why… especially when we are no Donald Trump nor Bill Gates but hard working people painfully saving our dollars for the little pleasures of life…
Usually I have no problem selecting what I want to collect as I am mainly a JOKER collector but when it comes to Harley Quinn, I am very picky with what I can and will buy and right now I have a problem maybe the fans out there can help me decide…. So please look below and give me an idea of what Harley Quinn statue I should select for collection…they are all SO BEAUTIFUL, but I’m no millionaire.
I want the Sideshow Arkham Asylum Premium Quality Joker figure being releases April/July 2016: $450
and that would be great, but there are a few of beautiful Harley Quinn figures coming out this year as well:
YAMATO’s DC FANTASY HARLEY QUINN FIGURE BY ARTIST LUIS ROYO to be released June 2015: $250
AND ENTERTAINMENT EARTH IS SELLING A VARIANT OF THIS STATUE to be released June 2015:$250
There is also the DC GOTHAM GARAGE HARLEY QUINN STATUEto be released in November 2015: $300
And of course the BOMBSHELL JOKER AND HARLEY QUINN FIGURE to be released on December 2015: $250
I’ll love your input on this matter… Thank you friends!
I sometimes like to do my own statues and sculptures when I want certain figure or pose that I like. I know that companies are not there for me, so I go and take a lump of Sculpey and just start creating my figures. I love learning new things about customizing and sculpting figures and I find this guy to be if not the best, pretty darn close. His name is RAFAEL ROBLEDO Jr. and he has a YouTube channel that showcases his work HERE. He does ALL kinds of customizations and some are pretty neat.
Then I found he customized a Joker sculpture, and decided I had to share that with Jokerdom. Here are the video series for your entertainment.
Why did I not find this before? Who knows, maybe sometimes the more you look the less you see.
Anyways this is an awesome Batman cowl redesigned in the style of the Joker and it was created by Derek Deal for the SDCC 2014 CAPE/COWL/CREATE. Here is a picture of his design and I think that it is something a Jokerized Batman would wear…
For my Joker fanatics out there that also tend to like the Funko Pop figures, here is a treat.
LOOT CRATE, that company that sends you a mystery black box every month with goodies, after you enroll in their subscription system, has released a little surprise for those Jokerholics out there. In December’s package they have released a EXCLUSIVE EDITION JOKER BATMAN-BATMAN FUNKO FIGURE and a Loot Crate Exclusive edition of BATMAN #36. You can probably still grab them now through Ebay (where I got mine). Here are some pics of the loot…ehem…treasure:
Another Clown Prince of Crime action figure has been announced for the 2015 as part of the New 52 line. The figure is based probably on design by Tony Daniel’s Detective Comics #1 , but I hope it means that Joker will recover his face (or some for of it at least…happy wishing here). Anyways, the design is nice and the lines are slick, while being faithful to Daniels design. Here is a preview:
