Yeah, we know….it is too early in the Batman history to see a Joker.  He should be what? A young man in his late teens early 20s maybe?

Well, the writers  of the successful TV series from FOX, Gotham, have decided on hinting to possible Joker candidates throughout the series (obviously not setting anything on stone as Joker’s origin is best left where it is…in the unknown) and they seem they will be starting with the second round of episodes for season 1 (or should this be Season 1.5?).  Personally, I hope this is not one of those hints…I really can’t see the man who would become the Joker related in any way with the Grayson’s at this time of the Batman history…it would be just too tacky in my opinion.

Anyways, here is the actual report from our friends at VIXEN VARSITY.

Filming for Gotham episode 16 took place earlier this week and some interesting on-set images and spoilers have surfaced online via Vixen Varsity.

The episode titled The Blind Fortune Teller will take place at a circus and viewers will be introduced to The Flying Graysons – Robin’s parents. According to the website, following a murder at the circus, Gordon questions the ringmaster and “an evil clown”.

Now, “could this be some sort of nod to The Joker? It’s unlikely, but you never know!” speculates ComicBookMovie.

Here are some more rumoured plot details about the episode, as per Vixen Varsity:

– A fight breaks out between clowns and trapeze artists.
– Detective James Gordon meets Dr Leslie Thompkins at Haly’s circus.
– Mary Lloyd, daughter of a clown is in love with John Grayson, son of a trapeze artist.
– Dr Leslie Thompkins checks out the injured circus folk.

The next episode of Gotham season 1 (episode 12) titled What the Little Bird Told Him airs on 19 January, 2015.

Jared Leto had to grow out his hair for his Oscar winning performance in Dallas Buyers Club, and he’s been rocking that look ever since. Don’t expect Leto’s Joker to have long hair in Suicide Squad though. Leto shared a photo on Instagram, teasing the haircut he’ll be getting in early 2015. Suicide Squad starts filming in April.

The Instagram photo is from a 2011 GQ photo shoot, and it appears that the new Joker will be sporting a similar hairstyle. Would you be a fan of that look (with some green hair dye, of course)? Let me know in the comments below!

Fun fact: It’s Jared Leto’s birthday today! He’s 43.

So….what do fans think about this?  I personally think they are reinventing the Joker once more (and that is great by me, Heath Ledger’s legacy should be left intact) and are aiming to a more ARKHAM ASYLUM/ARKHAM CITY look.  Anyways, this is a tease, it might not even be the final look  Guess we’ll have to wait and see…

Note:  If someone knows some Photoshop, you can start manipulating this photo for a possible look of the Clown Prince of Crime.

arkhamassaultJOKRI knew that Harley Quinn had made a comeback to the script of the upcoming SUICIDE SQUAD live action movie, but the rumors are now that Joker might also make an appearance in the movie (maybe even be the antagonist…hint, hint).  Anyways, didn’t want to post anything until I got a little more info on the whole thing, and the NERDIST has probably one of the best coverage on the subject .  So here is the latest on the rumors…and I hope they are true.

Gee…can’t way to see my puddin’ in the Silver screen once more…wonder if they are going for a reinterpretation of the character or just a comic book clone.  I mean, if Leto is the choice, he’s a very talented Oscar actor. Can’t wait for the first trailer, or picture from the movie set  (*biting nails*).  What do you think?

Recent report from Newsarama about the  new GOTHAM TV series seems to hint to some interesting plot developments and possibly inclusion of The Joker in the roster of criminals making their appearance on the show…. Here is an excerpt of the  report:

GOTHAM Showrunner Spills on the JOKER, Says Show Will Surpass the BATMAN Movies

Bruno Heller, the showrunner for next season’s highly anticipated Gotham series from Fox, has confirmed that he intends to features a slew of Batman villains in the television show — including The Joker — and believes his show will “surpass the [Christopher Nolan] Batman movies.”

“In terms of what [director and executive producer Danny Cannon and director of photography David Stockton] are doing — visually — Gotham will surpass the Batman movies,” he said. “The movies are a very rigorous, kind of Germanic take on that world. They’re visually stunning, but not particularly visually pleasurable. I would say this is much more on the street level of Gotham. There’s more people, it’s a more colorful place, it’s a more vivid place, it’s more crowded. The inspiration for me and Danny was New York in the ’70s, because we both remember that as a seminal moment, coming to the city for the first time. This is very much that kind of Gotham — intensely visual and three-dimensional and layered and gritty and dirty and sexy and dangerous.”

Gotham takes place when Bruce Wayne is a boy whose parents have just been murdered, and Heller called young actor David Mazouz “without a doubt, the best actor to ever play the part of Bruce Wayne.”…

…Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Heller said all of the first season is already mapped out, and the series will feature not only young Bruce Wayne and rookie cop Jim Gordon, but also Harvey Bullock, the Penguin, Riddler, young Catwoman, Poison Ivy, former “tough marine” Alfred Pennyworth, and others — and “possibly Harvey Dent.” The series will show what “inspired” the villains to eventually become their older selves….

arkhamassaultmovieRemember that special ops team Amanda Waller put together to do special suicide mission for the government? Well, imagine now that in the ARKHAM VIDEO GAME FRANCHISE.

Yep…you get the idea  This time the Joker (the story obviously happens before the clown’s demise) has set a dirty bomb in Gotham and it’s up to Batman and the Suicide Squad to put an end to the Clown’s maniacal plans.  That is the main story line in DC’s new animated  original movie BATMAN : ASSAULT IN ARKHAM to debut sometime in the fall of this year in both Blu Ray and Digital format. Love the interpretation of some of the Suicide Squad characters in this AKHAMVERSE And the animation is quite impressive reminiscent of the dark style of the ARKHAM franchise

It will feature the recognizable voice of KEVIN CONROY as Batman along with Tara Strong, Neal McDonough, Hayden Walch (and from the sounds of it, Troy Baker might be voicing Joker once more,,,yus!)

jokerrising-copyI just found this film on YouTube and it surprised me the quality of the story for a Joker fanfilm.  Though I personally imagine my own version of Joker’s origin before the TDK movie (and somewhat different to this), have to say that this is an original idea  brought to the screen  in a very professional way.  Is a fanfilm, not Hollywood, but definitely quality fanfilming and decent acting. It’s good not seeing a copy-cat Ledger on the screen and the underlying love story is a nice touch. Kudos to the writer, director and the actors for a job well done. Definitely worth sharing with Jokerdom…
