Artist:\u00a0 Jim Lee<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
Bio:\u00a0 Born \uc774\uc6a9\ucca0 Lee on August 11, 1964, Jim Lee is a Korean-American comic book artist, writer, editor and publisher.\u00a0Arrived at the US at the age of 4 and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri.\u00a0 It is said that his classmates at the St. Louis Country School predicted in his senior year he was going to found his own comic book company.\u00a0 In the meantime, he went to Princeton to finish a grade in psychology in order to fulfill his father’s dream of becoming a medical doctor but as he was ready to graduate he took an art class that reignited the\u00a0love for\u00a0drawing\u00a0in the aspiring comic book artist. In order to fulfill his dream and at the same time obtain his father’s blessing, he offered his father a deal in which he will postpone his medical career for a year\u00a0to try comics with the promise that he did not succeed in landing a job, he will return to the medical field. He first broke into the industry in 1987 working for Marvel in titles such as ALPHA FLIGHT<\/span> and PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL<\/span>.\u00a0 After he gained popularity for his new\u00a0dynamic style, he went to work into hallmark\u00a0Marvel\u00a0titles\u00a0like UNCANNY XMEN<\/span>,\u00a0 X-MEN #1<\/span> (series he co-wrote with Chris Clermont and that is still in the Guiness Book of Records as the best-selling comic book in history even to this date.)<\/li>\n
In 1992 he departed Marvel along with other creators and founded Image comics setting his own studio: WILDSTORM PRODUCTIONS<\/span> were he created comics like WILDCATS<\/span> and GEN13<\/span>.\u00a0 Lee sold the studio to DC in 1998 and was still producing books under this inprint until DC closed Wildstorm in 2o1o.\u00a0 By then Jim Lee was illustrating books like BATMAN: HUSH<\/span> and SUPERMAN: MAN OF TOMORROW.<\/span><\/li>\n
On February of 2010, Jim Lee was promoted to co-publisher for DC along with Dan Didio, substituting Paul Levitz<\/li>\n
Mr. Lee has obtained multiple awards like the 1990 Harvey Award for best new talent, 1992 Inkpot Award and the Wizard Fan Award for favorite penciller in 1996, 2002, and 2003.<\/li>\n
