The guys at CBR have a nifty sneak peek at the upcoming CATWOMAN #13 (a prelude to the Joker story arc in the Bat-titles), an issue that helps set the gears in motion for Joker’s confrontation with the Feline Femme Fatale.  Without giving much away of the preview, I like the way the mystery is woven at the beginning.  A memory that ‘was taken away from Selina”? Really?  What secret does Joker know about Selina to force her to her knees and surely out of the Batfamily??

I guess we’ll just have to read the whole issue that goes for sale this WEDNESDAY (October 17) at your local comic book shop. Please click on the picture below to be taken to the preview at CBR.

CATWOMAN 13: Is Joker’s Return a Multi Title Event?

Though DC has not said much about Joker’s return this October but could this be as grand as the DC editors promised and encompass several titles, Catwoman among them? Well, just look at the cover of Ocober’s Catwoman #13

Who knows, but tempting, isn’t it.  Maybe it will be affecting the entire DC 52 Unviverse, maybe Joker will have plans for our feline fatale, or maybe there will be no Joker at all in this issue and this is just a teaser, but by golly! Would it not be nifty to have a multi-title  Joker return?  Time will only tell.

The only other good thing about this issue is the fact that that Ann Nocenti  is wwriting  Catwoman now.  This is not her first issues as shse starts on the title with Catwoman #0, but the fact that we have a FEMALE writer writing a FEMALE character is great news.  Maybe she will make a turnarround from her last storyline ( where I personally think she was used more to attract male audience unfortunately, sacrifcing characterization or appeal)  and the character will finally be written well.  After all it’s been said…IT TAKES A WOMAN TO UNDERSTAND A WOMAN

That is what I have always thought  this catwoman needed and not just any writer, but Ann Nocenti has quite a resume behind her:  Wolverine, Xmen, Spiderman, Batman Gotham Knight, Batman/Catwoman: Trial of the Gun and was the current writer for DC52’s Green Arrow. Did she need anymore? 

 I stopped collecting Catwoman some time ago, but maybe Ann Nocent will bring the magic again and Catwoman will be a title worth collecting again.  I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Selina Kyle this round….

C2E2 Report 2: New Arkham City Series 2 is ready for Release

Comic Vine’s exclusive Tony “G-man” Guerrero reported about DC’s new Toys revealed at this month’s C2E2 (Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo).  Many new goodies have been unveiled from the new DC COLLECTIBLES (DC Direct’s new name) headquarters.  Here I will mention only those relevant to Gotham and Joker, since that is  the scope of this site, but more pictures can be seen at “G-Man’s” report HERE

And I was surprised that G-Man could not get a shot of the most anticipated RA’S AL GHUL action figure…probably because DC does not have a working figure as they release these…Let’s hope they will have one at the NYCC this year, I promise to bring one to you as soon as I get one.  In the meantime, enjoy this Prototype figure  sculpted in Z-brush and taken directly from Paul Harding Studios.

I saw these pics in Tumblr last night and thought they were interesting. So Catwoman is not just a downloadable character but will have several skins to choose from? Intriguing.  Personally I am not a big one of the old Catwoman and prefer her most modern look (the one that Adam Hughes made popular).  Of all the older version I think these were the least I liked (especially the Tim Sale version), but the book of tastes is open for everyone.  I bring the pictures here for your own evaluation:

It is well knows that besides Joker, Riddler, Two Face and Hugo Strange, there are a myriad of other criminals making an appearance in the new ARKHAM CITY video game.  I found some links to those other appearances and wanted to share it with you all

The first one is the Mr. Freeze trailer.  He seems more of a incarnation of his comic version than his tacky and tasteless self from the Batman  and Robin movie, and we have to thank Rocksteady for the reinterpretation.  This Victor Fries is dangerously ruthless, willing to cross any barrier to get what he wants:  Her lovely Nora.
